Wolfsburg and Cologne remain unbeaten this season after goalless draw

Wolfsburg and Cologne both maintained their unbeaten starts to the season with a goalless draw at the VW-Arena.

Mario Gomez made his debut for Wolfsburg, but the third most prolific forward currently still playing in the Bundesliga failed to make an impact on the game against a defensively solid Cologne.

The Germany striker could have his own team-mates to blame partly for his lack of chances, though, as they lacked the creativity which had helped them win comfortably in Augsburg a fortnight ago.

The guests improved in the second half and had the better chances to win the game, but Koen Casteels kept a valuable clean sheet for the Wolves, who like their guests have four points from their first two games of the season.
