New Wolves deal for Benaglio

Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio has penned a new deal that will keep him at last season's Bundesliga champions until the end of the 2012-13 campaign.

The 26-year-old Switzerland international has made 62 starts for Wolfsburg following his transfer from Portuguese side Nacional in January 2008.

Head coach Armin Veh told the club's official website: "Diego Benaglio is an important foundation of our team.

"We are delighted to have been able to secure the long-term services of another important team member."

Benaglio added: "I feel very happy with Wolfsburg and am looking forward to continuing my work here.

"We have an ambitious team and I would like to play my part in establishing Wolfsburg at the top of the Bundesliga and developing internationally."

Edin Dzeko, Grafite, Josue, Alexander Madlung, Sascha Riether and Zvjezdan Misimovic have all recently penned new long-term deals with the club.
