Hecking irked by De Bruyne rumours

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking is fed up with having to respond to rumours about Kevin De Bruyne as the Belgian's future continues to make the headlines.

Manchester City have been linked with a bid for the former Chelsea winger, who was voted the Bundesliga's Player of the Year last season, but Wolfsburg have already stated their intention to keep hold of him.

His contract still has four years left to run on it and talk of a summer transfer is beginning to frustrate Hecking.

"It's irritating because the questions don't change and we cannot always change our answers either," the coach said at a news conference ahead of his side's Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.

"I can't be bothered to talk about it any more. The club have made their position clear.

"We cannot react to everything... I really don't care and as a coach I can't give an update every single day."

However, Hecking insists the ongoing speculation is not getting to the player.

"He's not thinking about a transfer," Hecking said.

"I see Kevin De Bruyne in training and he is focused on the start of the season with us, and I'm sure he'll play a good game on Sunday."
