Double delight for Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg have completed a double swoop on Italian club Palermo to sign defensive duo Andrea Barzagli and Cristian Zaccardo.
Twenty-six-year-old Zaccardo will be joined by 27-year-old Barzagli at the ambitious Bundesliga club, with the latter having seen a move to Fiorentina fall through.
Barzagli's agent, Claudio Orlandini, said: "Only a Florentine native like Andrea would have offered to accept half the offer that Wolfsburg made.
"He sent a clear message, but Fiorentina didn't respond to that. Obviously I respect the club's point of view and I wish them all the best.
"Andrea was willing to give up a lot of money to play for Fiorentina, but they didn't take our requests into consideration."
Both Barzagli and Zaccardo were members of the Italy squad which won the World Cup in Germany in 2006.
