Diego resigned to Wolfsburg return

Mercurial Brazil midfielder Diego, who earlier this month won the Europa League title with Atletico Madrid, says he is resigned to returning to Wolfsburg when his loan spell in Spain expires next month.

"I think I'll be in Wolfsburg for the new season, because I still have two years left on my contract," the 27-year-old told German daily the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung.

Diego was sent out on loan from Wolfsburg just before the transfer window closed at the end of August 2011 after a public falling-out with coach Felix Magath.

Having been dropped for Wolves' final game of the 2010-11 season, Diego refused to sit on the bench and then stormed out of the stadium.
