Bayern step up interest in Dzeko

Reports suggest Bayern Munich have emerged as the favourites to sign Wolfsburg's in-demand striker Edin Dzeko.

Kicker suggests the Bosnia international will move to Bayern in a part-exchange deal that could include Mario Gomez and Anatoliy Tymoshchuk.

Juventus, AC Milan and Manchester City had all been linked with the prolific 24-year-old this summer but were put off by the 40million Euros price-tag Wolfsburg had placed on his head.

Dzeko has scored 66 goals in 102 appearances during his three seasons with Wolfsburg, playing a key role in the club's 2008-09 title-winning campaign.
