Agent upbeat over Dzeko talks

The agent of Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko remains hopeful that his client will be cleared to make a big-money move to AC Milan this summer.

The German champions had initially insisted that the 23-year-old Bosnia international was not for sale, but agent Vlado Borozan believes that talks with the Rossoneri will start soon.

He told the the Gazzetta dello Sport: "We're working all together for this negotiation to end in a good way.

"A small door is open and now it all depends on Volkswagen, who will express themselves in the coming days with regards to this negotiation.

"The player is no longer 'not for sale', but for the time being everything passes from the table of the Volkswagen manager.

"Once they will give the okay for the negotiation, then they will call-up Milan and start negotiating."

Wolves chief executive, Jurgen Marbach, had earlier admitted: "There is no new enquiry, but I have been told Milan have not yet given up.

"We wouldn't close the door regarding talks, but we are trying to speak in person with Edin Dzeko regarding a new contract."

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg have been linked with an audacious move for Portsmouth's England striker peter Crouch.

A cautious Marbach added: "We are in touch with a couple of strikers and I will certainly not make any comment on names."
