Zaki eyes final day return
Amr Zaki is determined to recover from injury in time to face Portsmouth on the final day of the season. The Wigan striker has been ruled out of Wednesday's clash with Premier league leaders Manchester United and he will also miss the trip to Stoke at the weekend. He admits there is a chance he may not play again this term as he could be sidelined for up to a fortnight. But the Egyptian has vowed to work as hard as he can to regain his fitness for the home game against Pompey. Zaki, on loan with the Latics from El Zamalek, has endured a disappointing second half to the season but has been grateful to the fans for their backing. "The scan result showed that I've got a strong knock in my knee and a light sprain of my left ankle which will rule me out for two weeks at most," Zaki said on his own official website. "The medical staff said that I may be fit for the last game of the season versus Portsmouth at the JJB on 26th May. "I hope to play that game to do special things for the fans who supported me a lot this season."
