Wigan boss Roberto Martinez reveals: I'll keep adding to my squad in January

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has vowed to continue strengthening his squad through the winter transfer window. Wigan have already completed the loan signing of Serbia international goalkeeper Vladimir Stojkovic from Sporting Lisbon this month, as well as sending midfielders Olivier Kapo and Cho Won-Hee out on loan. Martinez has also been heavily linked with Celtic striker Scott McDonald, and with the Latics currently just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League, the manager is determined to make the most of the opportunity to boost his resources before the window closes. Ready to do business: Roberto Martinez 'The amount of recruiting will depend on many aspects, but we are looking to strengthen in all areas of the field,' Martinez told the Wigan Evening Post. 'Possibilities always present themselves in January - that is the nature of the transfer window. 'It is never the easiest time of year to find solutions to your problems, because obviously we are halfway through the season. Up for the Cup: Wigan saw off Hull to reach the fourth round of the FA Cup earlier this month 'But we will carry on working as hard as we possibly can to make sure we strengthen the squad to take Wigan Athletic forward to the next level. 'I can guarantee that, whatever happens, we will end January with a stronger squad of players than we had at the beginning of the month. And that's what you have to do in every window.'  Wigan chief Dave Whelan calls for Premier League season to be extended after big freeze chaos Birmingham boss McLeish lines up move for Wigan striker RodallegaWIGAN ATHLETIC FC
