Sloppy Latics concern boss

Manager Roberto Martinez blamed "sloppy" finishing for Wigan Athletic's 1-0 defeat at home to Wolves. Martinez's first game at the DW Stadium ended in disappointment Andy Keogh's early header separated the sides. The Latics were brought back down to earth after Saturday's season-opening 2-0 victory over Aston Villa. "We were sloppy, we didn't have energy and we couldn't get hold of the game and Wolves took advantage," said Martinez. "We had the worst possible start and it allowed Wolves - playing away from home - to get behind the ball and get organised. "That is the hardest thing in football when you need to break things down. "I felt we dictated the play well in the second half without creating enough chances - which is something we need to improve."
