Sinclair reveals Wigan frustration

Scott Sinclair has described the season he spent on loan at Wigan as the 'most frustrating' period of his career. The former Chelsea youngster joined Swansea on a permanent basis this summer to make the Championship outfit his eighth club in just more than three-and-a-half years as a professional. And wideman Sinclair, who has also spent time on loan at Plymouth, QPR, Charlton, Crystal Palace and Birmingham, seems to have found a perfect home at the Liberty Stadium. That is in stark contrast to a personally irritating spell under boss Roberto Martinez at Wigan in the 2009/10 campaign, when he made just one league start in 10 months. "I sat down with the manager and he said I would be definitely playing on the left," Sinclair said in the Daily Mail. "They tell you one thing and then another thing happens. If I'd gone there, played the first three games and it hadn't worked out, fair enough. But when you go and you don't play, you can't show anyone what you've got. "I came on and scored against Hull in the Premier League but the next week I didn't feature. Then I started against Hull in the FA Cup and scored again. Then I didn't play again. "I used to knock on the manager's door and say, 'What can I do?' He'd say, 'Look, you've been excellent in training, but I've got to pick the team'. "It was definitely the most frustrating time of my career so far."
