Wigan Athletic forward Antoine Sibierski has revealed that he recently turned down an offer from Lille to return to France.
The 33-year-old has been in England since the summer of 2003, enjoying spells with Manchester City and Newcastle United before linking up with the Latics at the start of the current campaign.
Sibierski says he was flattered by the interest from his hometown club, but insists he is going nowhere.
He told the Wigan Post: "Lille contacted me three weeks ago to ask me if I wanted to get back to France.
"I told them no straight away, I don't want to go back to France. My family are happy living in Manchester and I'm very happy at Wigan."
Meanwhile, Latics boss Steve Bruce is backing new signing Wilson Palacios to be a big hit at the JJB Stadium, following the Honduran's promising debut in the 1-0 win at Derby.
"At Derby I thought he was terrific considering it was his debut," Bruce commented.
"Playing on the left isn't his best position, but he's a talented footballer.
"Wilson will give us something a bit different. He can play in the centre of midfield, on the right or just off the front."
