Scotland ready for big test

Recent Wigan Athletic signing Jason Scotland is relishing the chance to test himself in the Premier League for the first time. The 30-year-old has joined the Latics from Swansea City, having scored more than 50 goals in his two seasons in South Wales. He told his new club's official website: "It's great to have joined Wigan Athletic and get the chance to play in the Premier League. "It's a big step up for me, but hopefully I can take it in my stride and do well. I'm confident that by putting in hard work it will bring results. "Anybody who is playing in the lower divisions wants to play in the Premier League and show the world what they can do, that's no different for me. "Me and the gaffer (Roberto Martinez) were together at Swansea City for two seasons and it's exciting to be able to team up again here. "He likes his team to get the ball down, move it around and keep possession. "He wants his players to be in complete control of the game and because of this tactical approach to the game, Swansea were able to do so well last season."
