New Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has not ruled out the prospect of Paul Scharner leaving the club this summer.
The Austria international has spoken of his desire to leave the JJB Stadium after spending the last two-and-a half years with the Latics.
However, Martinez is refusing to be rushed, telling the Wigan Observer: "I am planning to speak to everyone, but I don't think it is the right time yet because it is vital that the players have a proper break.
"You are never going to stop media speculation and other clubs talking about our players - that is part and parcel of the game.
"But I will make sure I speak to every one of the players and reassess everyone's goals.
"I want to keep hold of everyone - that is clear - but on the other hand you don't want to have any players around who feel their time at the club is up.
"If it is right for Wigan, we're not going to stop anyone leaving. We only want players who are desperate to play for us and want to win games on a consistent basis."
