    Real deal interests Valencia

    30 Dec 2008 - 11:30:36

Wigan Athletic midfielder Luis Antonio Valencia would welcome a potential move to Real Madrid, according to his agent.

The Ecuador international is reported to be interesting the reigning Spanish champions after a successful two-and-a-half year spell with the Latics.

But despite admitting there has been no contact between the two clubs, the player's agent, Diego Herrera, has suggested his client would jump at the chance to move to Spain.

"It would be a dream for Antonio to move to Real Madrid - a very beautiful opportunity," he told AS.

"But until there is something official I don't want to say anything.

"I have understood that Madrid want to close the signing that they are chasing during the first week of January.

"We will see what will happen in the next few days."

Meanwhile, striker Emile Heskey will miss Friday's FA Cup third round clash with Tottenham with the hamstring injury he sustained at Bolton at the weekend.

The England striker, whose long-term future at the JJB Stadium remains unclear, is due to have full a scan on the injury on Thursday.

"We do not know the extent of the damage to Emile's hamstring and we have no idea yet of how long he is going to be out," revealed manager Steve Bruce.

"But he definitely will not play at Tottenham."
