Rayo confident of Diame deal

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Rayo Vallecano sporting director Felipe Minambres is confident Mohamed Diame's transfer to Wigan will go ahead as planned despite the switch being put on hold due to a health concern regarding the midfielder's heart. Wigan want Diame to undergo further medical tests before pushing through with the transfer of the 22-year-old Frenchman from Spanish Segunda Division outfit Rayo. Speaking in the wake of the death of Espanyol captain Daniel Jarque at the age of 26 due to a heart attack, Wigan manager Roberto Martinez said on Thursday: "It's something that has come up and we will take an intense and thorough look at it. "We will be very careful, the health of the player is the priority. This seems to be something congenital, but footballers hearts are also different because of the physical work they do." Minambres believes the deal will go through though, telling Marca: "Wigan want him to have other tests, but there is no problem. We carried out the appropriate analysis in pre-season and Diame is fine. "We are here (in England) to close the operation and I don't think there will be any type of problem."
