Moses dismisses Nigeria talk

11 Mar 2010 - 12:34:26

Wigan Athletic forward Victor Moses has dismissed rumours suggesting he is about to pledge his international future to Nigeria, following a recent snub by England Under-21s coach Stuart Pearce.

Moses was left out of the matchday squad for the 2-1 defeat by Greece, but the former Crystal Palace starlet insists that he has no problem with Pearce and is still fully committed to England.

He told the Evening Post: "I don't know where some people get their stories from, but that was just rubbish.

"I didn't actually see the paper, but my agent called me up and told me what was written. It really frustrates me when I read stuff about me that is blatantly not true.

"Because the truth is I didn't say any of it and I don't know where it has come from either.

"I didn't play for the England Under-21s, but I have not fallen out with Stuart Pearce or anyone else. If I were to be called up again, I would be happy to report again. There's no problem whatsoever.

"Whatever people are saying about me playing for England or Nigeria, all the stories that are going around, it's not really any of their business.

"I just want to play my football, play well for Wigan and stay focused on that. That's the most important thing for me."
