Scottish midfielder James McCarthy has vowed not to get carried away after finding the net in his first two starts for Wigan Athletic.
The 19-year-old netted in the 4-1 FA Cup third round win over Hull City, before scoring the opener in a 2-0 Premier League win at Wolves last weekend.
The former Hamilton Academical starlet had previously made just two appearances as a substitute since heading to England last summer, having been hampered by injury problems for some time.
McCarthy told the Evening Post: "I'm delighted with how it's going now, but it was a bit frustrating for me when I first signed.
"I got injured as soon as I arrived which meant the boys were all ahead of me in terms of pre-season fitness.
"I just had to keep working hard behind the scenes and the gaffer (Roberto Martinez) and Graeme Jones have been great with me.
"Two games and now two goals, but it's not just about that and I won't be getting carried away with it."
