Martinez: Latics were sloppy
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez admits his side need to learn to take their chances after losing 1-0 at home to Wolves. After falling behind to Andy Keogh's sixth-minute header which went in off the post he had struck moments earlier with a shot, it took until the second half for the Latics to get a foothold in the game. However, by then Mick McCarthy's side were well organised and they held out for their first Premier League away victory in 30 attempts. "We were sloppy, we didn't have energy and we couldn't get hold of the game and Wolves took advantage," said Martinez. "We had the worst possible start and it allowed Wolves, playing away from home, to get behind the ball and get organised. That is the hardest thing in football when you need to break things down. "I felt we dictated the play well in the second half without creating enough chances - which is something we need to improve."
