Latics leading Scotland chase
09 Jul 2009 - 11:30:14
Jason Scotland's agent expects the Swansea City striker to join Wigan Athletic ahead of Hull City.
The 30-year-old Trinidad & Tobago international has been the subject of interest from the Latics, Hull and Burnley during the close season.
The £2.5million-rated striker scored 24 goals in the Championship last season and agent Mike Berry believes a move to Wigan is the most likely scenario for his client.
The Latics are now managed by Scotland's former Swansea boss Roberto Martinez.
"I spoke to (Hull assistant manager) Brian Horton and he asked me what the bottom-line price would be for Jason," Berry told the Hull Daily Mail.
"I said I thought a fee of £2million would probably be enough to get him in.
"My belief was that he'd be ideal for Hull, but I expect the Wigan deal to go ahead now."
