Latics eye Costly move
Wigan are looking to land Honduran striker Carlos Costly, skysports.com understands. The 27-year-old is currently with GKS Belchatow in Poland, but he spent the latter part of last season on loan at Birmingham City. The Blues opted not to take him on a permanent basis, but now Wigan are looking into concluding a deal for the target-man. Wigan have extensive knowledge in Central and South America having signed a number of players from that region over the past few years and their scouts were impressed by Costly earlier this month as he scored two goals in Honduras' World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica. Wigan have now opened talks and could land Costly in a permanent deal worth around £1million as Latics boss Roberto Martinez looks to add numbers to his squad before the transfer deadline next week.
