Wigan Athletic have agreed to sell Lee McCulloch to Rangers for a fee believed to be around the £2million mark.

The 29-year-old Scotland international had been the subject of a £750,000 approach from the Ibrox club during the January transfer window which was rejected by the Latics.

But Athletic boss Chris Hutchings has finally agreed to sanction the sale of a player who has spent six years at the JJB Stadium.

"Wigan Athletic have confirmed that they have accepted a bid for from Rangers for Scotland international Lee McCulloch, and that the player has been given permission to talk to the Glasgow club," confirmed a club statement.

"McCulloch has travelled to Scotland today for talks."

The former Motherwell forward will join the Gers' pre-season tour to Germany where he could make his debut against FC Gutersloh on Friday.

McCulloch has made over 240 appearances and scored 46 times for the Latics.
