Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has played down suggestions that Charles N'Zogbia could leave the DW Stadium during the current transfer window.
The French midfielder has recently been linked with a move away from a club he only joined 12 months ago.
However, Martinez is confident that the transfer window will close at the end of the month with the former Newcastle United man still part of the Latics squad.
"I have no doubt Charlie is going to go to the top of world football, but the timing has to be right for Wigan Athletic," said the Spaniard.
"We are not going to stop any player from moving into a different challenge, but the timing has to be right for Wigan Athletic so we can develop and carry on moving towards where we want to be."
N'Zogbia scored twice during Saturday's 4-1 FA Cup third-round rout of Hull City.
The midfielder has netted five goals in 20 appearances for the Latics this season.
