Colombia international Hugo Rodallega is on the verge of completing his £4.5million transfer to Wigan Athletic.
The 23-year-old was granted a work permit a fortnight ago and is set to seal his switch from Mexican club Necaxa to the JJB Stadium.
The Latics have already sold Wilson Palacios to Tottenham this month, while Emile Heskey appears to be heading to Aston Villa where he will be reunited with Martin O'Neill and Marlon King has joined Middlesbrough on loan.
Boss Steve Bruce said of Rodallega: "He's strong and quick, with an eye for goal.
"If he's like any of the other South and Central American imports we've brought to the club then we've netted another gem."
Meanwhile, Henri Camara is determined to fight for his place at the JJB Stadium despite being linked with a switch to Stoke City.
He said: "I am happy to play for Wigan at the moment. My agent has told me that there are clubs in the Premier League and in Europe interested in me.
"Stoke is a good club, but I don't know about any interest from them."
