Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is hoping to use the international break to get over a recurrence of a back injury.
The 27-year-old has struggled in the opening weeks of the new campaign, missing the defeat to Chelsea before returning to the fold for the 5-0 victory at Hull City.
Kirkland told the Wigan Observer: "I'm managing it, I've got a chance now to rest it and strengthen it up.
"I've obviously got a problem with it and it's flared up, but it'd be nice to have it sorted so I don't have to talk about it. It feels fine now.
"Rest should hopefully do the trick."
Kirkland's career has been blighted by a number of injury setbacks, with his time at Liverpool being ruined by a series of back problems.
