Kirkland wants Latics reaction

// A bit of a hack but it works// The article snippet is wrapped onto a second line, even when #article-sub is emptyif( $("div#article-sub").children().length == 0 ) {$("div#article-sub").remove();} Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland is hoping his team can bounce back from their Arsenal drubbing when they take on Chelsea on Saturday. The Latics were beaten 4-0 at the Emirates Stadium and were comprehensively outplayed in every area of the pitch, but Kirkland insists the clash with the Blues is exactly what they need to banish the demons of last weekend. Chelsea boast a 100 per cent start to the Premier League campaign and will provide extremely tough opposition at the DW Stadium, but Kirkland is looking forward to the game. "All the lads are very disappointed, but the beauty of this game is you always have another game coming up," he told the Wigan Evening Post. "We have to get back to basics, and I'm sure we'll be working extremely hard on the training ground. "Saturday was definitely a bad day for us, but there is always another day round the corner. The desire is there to do better and put things right - and I'm sure we will." Roberto Martinez's side have had an indifferent start to the season with six points from their opening six games, but have been comprehensively defeated by both Arsenal and Manchester United. "It's horrible being a goalkeeper on a day like that, but that's part and parcel of the job," Kirkland added. "That's why you do it. You have to take the ups with the downs. Four goals was bad enough, though - no goalkeeper likes letting four goals in."
