Kirkland '100 per cent' certain to go to South Africa, claims Martinez

Roberto Martinez has guaranteed that Chris Kirkland will be part of England's World Cup squad, despite the Wigan goalkeeper's injury problems. The Latics boss made his bold prediction after Kirkland returned to first-team action during the 1-1 draw at Sunderland on Saturday following his recovery from a collarbone problem. And Martinez insists that there is no better stopper in the Premier League than Kirkland, meaning Fabio Capello will not be able to resist including him in the squad for South Africa. Back in action: Chris Kirkland punches clear against Sunderland Kirkland, 28, has long suffered from a reputation of being susceptible to injuries and the Wigan manager believes only that tag could prevent his participation at the World Cup. Martinez said: 'I keep looking at the Premier League goalkeepers andI don't see anyone better. Probably that label he has got asinjury-prone has not helped him, but football should make thatdecision.   'If Chris can play the next 15 games, then he should be in theEngland squad because his performances show you that he is assured, hehas great confidence and he always makes the right decisions.' 'The only battle he has got is to lose the label that everyone hasgiven him of being injury-prone. After working with him I can guarantee100 per cent that he will be in the England squad.'  King too good for England to ignore, insists Tottenham boss RedknappCahill's World Cup dream in tatters as defender suffers mystery blood clotWIGAN v Stoke: Boss Roberto Martinez has healthy Latics squadInternational recognition is a matter of 'when' not 'if' for Charles N'Zogbia according to Wigan boss Roberto Martinez
