Kingson hoping to stay in England
01 Jul 2010 - 11:42:47
Free agent goalkeeper Richard Kingson is hoping to remain in the Premier League despite his recent release by Wigan Athletic.
The Ghana World Cup shot-stopper left the DW Stadium when his contract expired last month but believes he still has plenty to offer a club in the top-flight of English football.
The 32-year-old struggled to break into the first team at Wigan following a previous spell on the sidelines at Birmingham City.
"I have to prove myself in the Premier League. It is an unfulfilled mission for me," he said.
"It was not easy at Wigan but I tried to stay positive and do everything correctly.
"I was waiting for my chance and it did not come. Now I am at the World Cup. I am playing, I am comfortable and I am happy. Everyone can see what I can do.
"I would still like to stay in England because I know I could play every week in the Premier League."
