Keeper set for Bolton exit
13 Oct 2008 - 08:55:35
The agent of Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi has dropped a major hint that his client will leave the Trotters by next summer at the latest.
The 26-year-old Oman international has become increasingly frustrated by a lack of first-team opportunities at the Reebok Stadium, while his current contract runs out at the end of the season.
Al Habsi's agent, Peter Harrison, told the Daily Star Sunday: "Ali is in the last year of his contract and they haven't offered him anything.
"Several clubs in the Premier League are very interested in signing him.
"I don't know why Bolton haven't offered him a contract, maybe you have to ask the manager, Gary Megson, or the chairman.
"It's strange that Andy O'Brien and Kevin Davies have had extensions when Ali hasn't been offered anything. Obviously they don't want to keep him."
Al Habsi joined Bolton from Norwegian club Lyn Oslo in January 2006, but has made just 16 appearances for the Trotters.
Meanwhile, Bolton are one of a number of clubs being linked with an interest in Fulham's Jimmy Bullard, with Everton and West Ham also reportedly keeping tabs on the midfielder.
