Wigan Athletic boss Paul Jewell is still uncertain whether French defender Pascal Chimbonda will be at the club at the end of the week.
The 27-year-old full-back handed in a transfer request straight after the final game of last season at Arsenal, with Spurs making several bids for his services over the summer.
However, after that deal appeared to be dead, Chimbonda returned to the Latics squad for the 1-0 win over Reading at the weekend, but Jewell still has doubts over his player's motives.
He told the Evening Post: "I don't know what Pascal is thinking, one minute he thinks he's staying, the next he might go.
"My stance hasn't changed on it, I want him to stay, I'd love him to stay, but he has to want to stay. If no-one comes in with the money for him, he's not going anywhere.
"What Pascal did at Highbury last season has been well documented, but that's not the issue any more.
"The issue now is whether Pascal wants to stay and if he does he's more than welcome.
"It's one thing a club wanting him and another coming up with the money."
