Duke return hopes stall
09 Jan 2007 - 15:05:40
Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell is reported to be growing increasingly frustrated in his bid to bring West Brom striker Nathan Ellington back to the JJB Stadium.
The Latics are believed to have made a £3million offer for the 25-year-old who has been a regular on West Brom's substitute's bench in the last two months.
Jewell had been hoping to re-sign Ellington in time for Saturday's FA Cup third round clash with Portsmouth, but Albion are believed to be keen to sign a new striker themselves before allowing the former Bristol Rovers star to leave The Hawthorns.
Meanwhile, Burnely, Preston North End and Stoke City are all reported to be keen to sign Gary Teale who has struggled to win a regular first-team spot this term.
