Double strike deal for Wigan
01 Sep 2006 - 08:53:10
Wigan Athletic boss Paul Jewell added to his strike options by bringing in David Cotterill and Svetoslav Todorov shortly before the transfer deadline.
Wales international Cotterill joined the Latics from Bristol City in a £2million deal.
The 18-year-old, who scored eight times in 62 League One outings for City, signed a three-year contract at the JJB Stadium.
Bulgaria international Todorov arrived from Portsmouth on a loan deal running until the end of the year.
The 28-year-old has scored 33 times in 76 league appearances during an injury ravaged four-and-a-half-year spell with Pompey.
The last-minute deals took the number of new arrivals at Wigan this summer to 11, following the signings of Emile Heskey, Fitz Hall, Emmerson Boyce, Denny Landzaat, Chris Kirkland, Antonio Valencia, Tomasz Cywka, Andrew Webster and Kevin Kilbane.
