Wigan Athletic winger Daniel de Ridder is on the verge of sealing a six-month loan move to Hapoel Tel-Aviv.
The 25-year-old Dutchman moved to the Latics from Birmingham City in the summer of 2008, but has started only eight times during his 18 months with the club.
De Ridder has been frustrated by his lack of first-team opportunities, particularly this term, saying: "At the beginning I was very positive about the offensive intent of our new coach Roberto Martinez.
"But my chance has not come. If I want to play this season, a move looks to be the right solution."
De Ridder still has 18 months remaining on his current contract at the DW Stadium, but Martinez is happy to let him and Erik Edman leave.
He was recently quoted as saying: "There has been interest in Daniel and Erik, but obviously it has to be the right thing for both the player and the football club.
"I'm sure that there will be some more movement before the window closes."
