Out: Nouha Dicko (Blackpool, loan), Daniel Redmond (Hamilton, loan)

Verdict: Wigan failed to sign Nicky Maynard from Bristol City who instead opted to move to West Ham. A lack of goals could provide the killer blow that sends Wigan back to the football league. They did however manage to bring in creative Chile international Jean Beausejour from Birmingham.
