Wigan Athletic have allowed Won-Hee Cho to rejoin former club Suwon Samsung Bluewings on a one-year loan deal.
The 26-year-old South Korea international joined the Latics towards the end of last season and made a handful of first-team appearances.
However, this season the midfielder has been on the periphery of the first team and has been allowed to move on by manager Roberto Martinez.
He has started just one Premier League game this term for the Latics.
"Cho has been a good professional for us with a great attitude and we wish him all the best in his quest to win a place in the South Korea squad for South Africa," Martinez told the club's official website.
"We hope he performs well for club and country while he is away and look forward to welcoming him back this time next year."
