Chief Benson to make Wigan exit

Wigan's general manager John Benson will leave at the end of this month after 10 years at the club. In two spells at the club, between 1995 and 2002, and then 2006 until now, Benson has also been assistant manager and also briefly took charge of the first team in 1999/2000. However, current boss Roberto Martinez wants to bring in his own man to work alongside him so Benson has stepped down.
