Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has admitted that continued speculation linking midfielder Lee Cattermole with a transfer is unsettling the whole club.
The 21-year-old is still a rumoured target for both Sunderland and Liverpool, with Martinez unhappy that the speculation refuses to go away.
He told the Evening Post: "It's unsettling and it's very difficult for any human being to deal with.
"When you are young it is even harder to deal with. It is the nature of the game, but what you don't want is uncertainty.
"You need to know where you stand and have players that are determined, focused and working to high standards.
"When you have that you can face anything and that's what I'm looking for, to get to the close of the window with a settled squad.
"At the moment we have got a little too much uncertainty in a couple of situations and we need to make sure we put that right."
