Wigan Athletic striker Hugo Rodallega has won the backing of manager Steve Bruce despite having yet to score for the Premier League outfit.
The 23-year-old Colombia international joined the Latics for £5million from Mexican club Necaxa in the January transfer window, but has failed to find the net in 11 subsequent outings.
However, Bruce said after the goalless draw with Bolton Wanderers: "It's probably about the sixth time Hugo has hit the woodwork since his first game for us against Liverpool, that kind of sums up his luck at the moment.
"The kid needs a goal, but I've seen enough to know that he'll be a really good acquisition for us.
"He's bright, lively and when he does get his goal, he'll be fine.
"His industry, creativity and link-up play with Mido in the first half was terrific and if he continues to perform like that, I'll be very happy."
