Bruce makes Bent U-turn

Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce has decided not to sign Charlton Athletic striker Marcus Bent on a permanent basis.
The 30-year-old had been expected to move to the JJB Stadium in a £1million deal this summer after scoring seven times in 32 appearances during a season-long loan spell with the Latics last term.
However, Bruce has decided not to take up the option to buy Bent, telling the Evening Post: "I think Marcus played his best football for us when we were without (Emile) Heskey.
"We need someone who's going to score us goals, a striker who can play off Heskey, and hopefully we can do some business this summer."
Bruce continues to be linked with Egypt international Amr Zaki, and only has four forwards - Heskey, Marlon King, Antoine Sibierski and Julius Aghahowa - currently on his books.
Aghahowa continues to be linked with a transfer to Turkish side Kayserispor while Sibierski may also move to pastures new this summer after growing frustrated with his lack of first-team starts under Bruce.
