Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce is confident that new signing Charles N'Zogbia will prove to be a useful addition to the Latics squad.
The 22-year-old midfielder made an acrimonious exit from Newcastle United last week, having grown disillusioned with the way things were going at St James' Park.
However, Bruce believes that the left-sided player will show top form at the JJB Stadium.
He said: "Whatever happened at Newcastle it looks like he's gone a bit stale and he's had his ups and downs, but one thing about him is he has quality.
"He is young and I think people forget that. We all do daft things when we are young, but we think for us it was a no-brainer.
"Maybe when he looks back he might think he handled the situation wrong, but whatever has happened to him has gone and this is a new chapter for him."
N'Zogbia scored ten goals in 154 appearances for the Magpies following his arrival in England from Le Havre in the summer of 2004.
