Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce is confident that loan striker Amr Zaki will provide the goals to keep the Latics well away from the Premier League relegation battle.
The 25-year-old has scored 11 times for the Latics this season, but has not found the net in open play since mid-October.
However, Bruce told the Evening Post: "Zaki is the one who can be the spark for us, he can set us on fire again with goals.
"If you look at a lot of clubs in the Premier League, the one thing they have in common is that they struggle for goals.
"They don't have someone who can score them ten or 12 goals, it's incredible how many teams have that problem.
"We're fortunate to have Zaki, who is already in double figures and I hope that he can give himself some fresh impetus and score a few more for us.
"Looking at our recent record, you can trot out all the statistics you want, but we've had a tough run of games.
"If you include Fulham the other week, who are top ten, we've played Manchester United, Liverpool and Aston Villa in the last month or so and also Manchester City and Tottenham.
"I always said that if we could come through January and February still in that top group, we would be all right."
