Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce has denied reports suggesting that a deal has already been agreed to allow Honduras midfielder Wilson Palacios to join Manchester United.
Press speculation has arisen that an £18million deal has already been put in place between the two clubs, but Bruce insists that such talk is wide of the mark.
He told the Wigan Evening Post: "I'm never going to be able to stop speculation like that as everyone knows my connections with United. But there is no deal done, I can tell you that.
"The way Wilson has been playing, he is going to attract the attention of other clubs. But certainly nothing is in place at Christmas or next summer."
Meanwhile, club chairman Dave Whelan has revealed that the Red Devils are also keeping tabs on Latics winger Luis Antonio Valencia.
He added in the Wigan Observer: "We've got some fantastic young players here and we're going to get some clubs chasing them.
"I understand that, but we will keep them as long as we can.
"The goal from Valencia against Manchester City was stunning and I know Manchester United have been watching him."
