Brown exit still possible
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has not ruled out the possibility of selling midfielder Michael Brown and bringing in another new player before the end of the transfer window. The 32-year-old is in the final year of his contract and Portsmouth lead the list of clubs who are interested in signing the former Fulham, Tottenham and Sheffield United man. Brown started the Latics' first two matches of the season but appears to have fallen down the pecking order after the arrival of Mohamed Diame from Rayo Vallecano and did not feature in last weekend's defeat to Manchester United. Although Martinez would not confirm he is willing to allow Brown to leave it remains a distinct possibility. "At the moment there is nothing concrete," said the Spaniard. "Michael is in the last year of his contract and in these situations you are looking to your future and there have been a couple of enquiries. "It always bring you that bit of instability in the last two windows before his contract expires and that is where we are. We will see where that takes us as Tuesday is the deadline."
