Central defender Titus Bramble has confirmed that he is close to agreeing a new contract at Wigan Athletic.
The 27-year-old stopper has enjoyed two fine seasons with the Latics, having rebuilt his career after a disappointing end to his stay with Newcastle United.
He told the Evening Post: "I think the new contract is almost finalised.
"Fingers crossed it will get signed in the next week or so. I'm happy here because I'm playing week in, week out.
"This is a good club to be at. After being close to getting a European qualifying spot a few weeks ago, maybe we can push for it next season."
Bramble, who started his career with Ipswich Town, has scored three times in 64 appearances for the Latics.
