Latics deal delights Kirkland

Goalkeeper Chris Kirkland claims he never considered leaving Wigan Athletic after agreeing a new contract at the JJB Stadium.
The England keeper has pledged his future to the Latics until 2012 despite speculation linking him with a move to several other Premier League clubs.
But after putting pen to paper, the 27-year-old has revealed his desire to remain with the club.
"I am delighted to have signed as my family are settled now for the next four years," he told the club's official website.
"I was only ever interested into extending my deal here at Wigan. They gave me a chance here a couple of years ago when nobody else would and I am grateful for them for that and that is why I wanted to pledge my future.
"I am very happy here and I love coming into work and coming in to train and until that day stops I want to be here as long as I can.
"I would not have signed if I did not think we could go places.
"It is a tough league and it gets tougher every year, but hopefully we are not going to be near the bottom and we can have a great season and push up the league."
