Steve Bruce has rubbished suggestions that his Wigan Athletic side will not give their all in Sunday's Premier League clash with
Manchester United.
Bruce's former club will win the title if they pick up three points at the JJB Stadium against a Latics side who are already assured of safety.
But despite his links to Old trafford, Bruce is adamant his players will want to get the better of the Red Devils.
Chelsea will be crowned champions should United drop points and they defeat Bolton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.
"Everybody who knows me knows me better than that," claimed Bruce.
"What am I going to say to the team? 'Just roll over and let Man United win'?
"That's not going to happen. Make no mistake. We'll be trying our utmost."
Meanwhile, Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has backed his manager's claim that the Latics players are determined to win the game.
He added: "All this in the press about us rolling over for Manchester United is complete and absolute rubbish."
United are expected to have Wayne Rooney and Nemanja Vidic available for selection after shrugging off hip and head injuries respectively.
