Zaki calm over Mido claims

Amr Zaki has responded to allegations that he spread stories about Wigan team-mate Mido. Mido claimed that Zaki and his agent had been behind 'false rumours' that could have damaged his reputation. It was alleged that Mido had reacted angrily after being left on the substitutes' bench for Egypt's World Cup qualifier against Zambia at the weekend. Mido was not happy with his fellow striker but Zaki has insisted he would never deliberately cause trouble and has called for focus ahead of Egypt's coming games. "I've never raised any problem and I will never do so because I respect my team-mates beside all the technical crew and I respect myself before everything," Zaki said in a statement on his own official website. Zaki, who is set to be sidelined for around three weeks with a hamstring injury, has fallen out of the Wigan starting line-up in recent weeks. But he realises it is up to manager Steve Bruce to decide who plays and is happy to bide his time. "That was the coach's decision and he is the only one who can decide who starts and I respect his point of view because I'm a professional player," Zaki explained. "(I) know my rights and duties towards the team and manager decisions."
