Wigan warned off McDonald

Scott McDonald's agent has advised Wigan not to waste their time making a second approach for his client. The Latics lodged an offer for the Celtic striker prior to the summer transfer window slamming shut last week. That bid was knocked back by the Hoops, but Roberto Martinez is understood to be keen to reignite his interest in January. However, McDonald's representative has warned the Wigan boss that the Australia international has no desire to leave Parkhead in the foreseeable future. "My understanding was there was a tentative approach made to Celtic that was flatly rejected," Lou Sticca told the Wigan Evening Post. "As far as Scott is concerned, he has three more years on his contract with Celtic and all he wants is to win as much silverware as possible for the club he has supported from childhood. "Some players never win anything and very few actually play for the club they supported from childhood. In Scott's case he is doing both."
