Barnett blow for Latics

Leon Barnett is the latest player added to Wigan's casualty list prior to Yeovil's visit to the DW Stadium.

The central defender has a hamstring problem and, although boss Uwe Rosler envisions him playing again this season, he likely faces at least a few weeks on the sidelines.

It is another blow for Latics, who have managed to conjure up an eight-game winning streak despite losing midfield trio Ben Watson (broken leg), Chris McCann (knee) and Roger Espinoza (hernia).

The club's development squad play on Tuesday afternoon and the likes of winger Shaun Maloney (hip) and central defender Gary Caldwell (Achilles) are set for another run out as they step up their respective comebacks.

Joe Ralls looks set for a return to Yeovil's starting line-up.

The Cardiff loanee has served his three-match suspension for a red card against Reading and his availability is timely with fellow midfielder Ruben Palazuelos having picked up an injury in the warm up ahead of last Saturday's 3-0 loss at QPR.

His withdrawal meant Luke Ayling moved to partner Joe Edwards in central midfield but Ralls' return could see Ayling drop back to his usual position at right-back.

One player who will not be involved is Huddersfield loanee Duane Holmes who returned to his parent club on Monday. Kevin Dawson will hope to get the nod in his place.
