Wigan v Swansea preview

Team news for Tuesday night's Carling Cup clash between Wigan Athletic and Swansea City at the DW Stadium.[LNB] Ashley Williams will be assessed ahead of Swansea's trip to Wigan in the fourth round of the Carling Cup.[LNB]The defender suffered mild concussion during Saturday's 2-0 victory over Leicester and, despite completing the Championship encounter, the club's medical team will monitor his progress over the next 24 hours.[LNB]Forward Joe Allen took a slight knock to a knee against the Foxes but is likely to be okay for the trip north which will be made by 4,490 Swans fans who have snapped up every ticket available for the reunion with former City boss Roberto Martinez.[LNB]Current incumbent Brendan Rodgers is likely to name a strong side with a quarter-final place at stake and a host of big names already out of the competition.[LNB]He could opt to include midfielder Kemy Agustien, who is now fully fit after his knee trouble and made his debut as a second-half substitute at the weekend.[LNB]On-loan forward Marvin Emnes has been given permission by parent club Middlesbrough to feature and could start having proved the turning point against Leicester, scoring one and setting up the other following his half-time introduction.[LNB]Wigan are without midfielder James McCarthy for the tie against Swansea.[LNB]The Republic of Ireland international suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's clash against Bolton that could sideline him for up to 10 weeks.[LNB]Defender Emmerson Boyce is also out with a hamstring problem but Steven Gohouri could return.[LNB]Gary Caldwell is unlikely to be risked as he continues his recovery from double hip surgery while on-loan Manchester United player Tom Cleverley is ineligible.[LNB]Manager Roberto Martinez must decide whether to retain Chris Kirkland in goal or recall Ali Al Habsi, who did not play against parent club Bolton.[LNB]Wigan (from): Kirkland, Al Habsi, Nicholls, Gohouri, Stam, Figueroa, Alcaraz, N'Zogbia, Watson, Diame, Moses, Rodallega, Di Santo, Boselli, Gomez, S Caldwell, Golobart, McArthur, Thomas.
